Pick 3 is simple to play. Here’s how to take part:
You can pick between Straight, Box, or Straight/Box - each choice offers different cash prize payouts. See the Play Types section for more details and options.
Play the Midday draw, Evening draw or, if you want to maximize your chances of winning, both.
Select three digits from 0-9 (or have Quick Pick randomly generate them). You may use a number more than once per draw.
Decide how much you want to spend per play for each draw. Higher bets generally lead to higher payouts. The wager options are $0.50, $1, $2, $3, $4 or $5.
You can play from 1-7 consecutive draws using your favorite numbers. If you prefer to play a future draw, Advance Play allows you to play on any day you choose up to seven days in advance.
Buy your tickets through your chosen Kentucky Lottery retailer or online and enjoy the draw.
Decide on your wager type and amount. You can wager from $0.50 to $5.00 on a playslip, or up to $10.00 at the terminal. The wager type you choose affects the minimum wager:
Straight - Win if your numbers match the winning numbers in EXACT order. Minimum wager: $0.50.
Box - Win if your numbers match the winning numbers in ANY order. Box can be 3-Way or 6-Way depending on the numbers you play. Minimum wager: $0.50.
Straight/Box - A Straight and Box wager in one play. Win if your numbers match the winning numbers in EXACT OR ANY order. If you match in exact order, you win both the Straight and Box prizes. If you match in any order, you win the Box prize. Minimum wager: $1.00 (combines a $0.50 Straight and a $0.50 Box wager).
Super Straight - Win the Straight payout if your numbers match the winning numbers in ANY order. Super Straight covers all Straight combinations. For example, if you picked 112 as your numbers, Super Straight is like having a wager on all three of the winning Straight combinations: 112, 121, and 211. Minimum wager: $1.50 (all Straight combinations).
Pairs - Win if your two numbers match the winning pair numbers in EXACT order. Pairs are not an option on the playslip – ask your retailer for this wager type. Minimum wager: $0.50. You can play Front Pair (first two digits), Back Pair (last two digits) or Split Pair (first and last digits).
This refers to how many way the numbers can be arranged, and therefore how many ways you can win. A 3-Way play, for example, has two identical numbers out of three (334, for example, can be ordered 334, 343 or 433). A 6-Way play has three unique numbers, such as 123 (it can be arranged six ways – 123, 132, 213, 231, 312 or 321).
The minimum age to play any KY Lottery game is 18.
All Pick 3 prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the relevant draw date.
