Daily 5 is a Michigan Lottery game that lets you win up to $50,000 by simply matching five numbers from 0 to 9. It plays a lot like its sister games, Daily 3 and Daily 4, but with steeper odds and bigger prizes!
Draws are held twice a day, every day, at 12:59 PM and 7:29 PM ET. On this page, you can read all about the game, how to play, check the odds and prizes, and more.

First, decide which play type you want to use for your ticket. It's a good idea to choose this before choosing your numbers, since the odds and prizes for some play types will vary if you pick duplicate digits. Each play type is essentially a rule that determines how your numbers must match the winners. You can read about each play type (and the 'Ways to Play' mechanic that affects picks with duplicate digits) in the section below.
Next up, pick your numbers. You can pick the same number digit times! For random numbers, you can ask for an Easy Pick, or come pre-prepared with some numbers generated using our Daily 5 Generator.
Choose whether to enter the Midday draw, the Evening draw, or Both, and mark the relevant section on your slip. Entering Both will generate two tickets (doubling your stake) using the same numbers. You can also mark the relevant box to enter multiple draws in advance.
All that's left to do now is wait for your draw (or draws, if you entered multiple). The Midday Draw is at 12:59 PM ET and the Evening Draw is at 7:29 PM ET, the same times that the other MI Lottery "Daily" game draws are held.
Straight - To win using this play type, all five of your digits must match the winning digits in the order they're drawn.

2-Way - Half of your wager goes on a Straight bet, and the other half on a Box. If all five of your digits match in drawn order, you'll win half of both prizes. If they all match in any other order, win half of the Box prize.
Wheeled - For this play type, all possible combinations of your five digits are entered as individual Straight bets. This lets you, in effect, win the top (Straight) prize by matching your digits in any order. However, this play type costs much more than a regular ticket.
Box - All five of your digits must match the winning digits, but the order they're drawn in doesn't matter.
1-Off - Match all five digits in drawn-order to win the 1-Off Straight prize. However, if one of your digits is 1 above or 1 below the winning digit in the same position, you'll still win the 1-Off Regular prize.
We touched on this in the How to Play section – for some play types, picking the same digit multiple times will result in different odds, prizes, or even ticket costs, depending on the Play Type you use. Here's how it works.
For all play types where your digits can win in any order (Box, Straight/Box, and Wheeled), every possible arrangement of your digits counts as an additional chance at winning. This is called the number of Ways you play. Playing more Ways improves your winning odds, but Box prizes will be smaller should you win, while Wheeled tickets will become more expensive. Playing fewer Ways will reduce your odds of winning, while increasing your potential Box prize or decreasing the cost of your Wheeled ticket.
Here are the different "Ways to Play" in MI Daily 5:
5-Way – 00001 – Four like numbers, one unique number.
10-Way – 00011 – Three like numbers, one number pair.
20-Way - 00012 - Three like numbers, two unique numbers.
30-Way – 00112 – Two pairs of like numbers, one unique number.
60-Way – 00123 – One pair of like numbers, three unique numbers.
120-Way – 01234 – Five unique numbers.
You can get Daily 5 tickets up to 12:49 PM ET for the Midday Draw, and 7:08 PM ET for the Evening Draw.
You'll need to be 18 or over to play Daily 5, or any other Michigan Lottery game. This also includes redeeming winning tickets.
Yes, it's possible to enter multiple draws in advance using your play slip – you can mark the Midday, Evening, or Both boxes to specify which draw times you want to enter, then use the 'Multiple Draw Wagers' section to specify how many draws you want your numbers in.
In the Michigan Lottery's 'Daily' games, there are no second-place prizes for matching most of your numbers – you need to get them all, according to the play type you specified for your ticket.
No, this is only a feature in Michigan's Daily 3 game. Daily 4 and Daily 5 do not offer players any wager amount options.
The main difference between Daily 3, 4, and 5, is the number of digits used for the game. The three-digit game, Daily 3, is much easier to win, and thus has lower prizes: the top prize for a $1 game is $500. Daily 5 has the steepest odds, but a max prize of $50,000 for a $1 game. Daily 4 sits in between the other two, with a top prize of $5,000.
