Prizes and Odds

To win a Keno prize, you must match the numbers you pick to the numbers that are drawn. So far, that’s very much like any other lottery game. But in Keno the payouts also depend on a couple of other factors – how many Spots (numbers) you picked, and how much you wagered.

The more numbers you pick, the greater the potential prize. For example, if you play the 12 Spot game and match 12 out of 12, you win $1 million on a $1 wager. You can also wager up to $20, with prizes increasing proportionally as you spend more.

The following tables show how much you can win for each version of Keno, from the 1 Spot format (choosing just one number) to the 12 Spot game. It is even possible in some games to win a prize without matching a single number!

For the 10-Spot, 11-Spot and 12-Spot games, there are limitations on the top prize. The most that can be paid out on a single game is $10 million, and this will be divided equally by the total number of dollars wagered in some scenarios (if there are more than $100 wagered on the winning numbers in the 12 Spot game, $20 for the 11 Spot game and $10 for the 10 Spot game).

Keno Bonus Prizes

If you add the Keno Bonus option to your ticket, it gives you the chance to increase your winnings by up to 10 times. A multiplier is selected at random as part of every draw (3x, 4x, 5x, 10x or No Bonus). It doubles the cost of your wager but, if you win, the payout will be boosted accordingly. Here are the odds for each possible Keno Bonus, with an example of how a prize can be multiplied.

MA Keno Bonus Prizes and Odds
Bonus Number With Bonus Odds of Winning
No Bonus $5 1 in 1.75
3x $15 1 in 3
4x $20 1 in 15
5x $25 1 in 40
10x $50 1 in 234
Overall odds are 1 in 2.3 for a 3x or more Bonus.

2. Choose Your Numbers

Pick your numbers from 1 to 80. If you’ve decided to play a 10 Spot game, for example, you’ll have to choose 10 numbers. You can select your own favorite numbers, or mark Quic Pic and the Lottery terminal which will randomly generate a set for you. Alternatively, skip the bet slip and just ask the retailer directly for a Quic Pic.

How Many Drawings?

If you want to play your numbers again for multiple drawings, just mark the number of consecutive draws you want to enter - up to 100. The Extend & Save feature means that the cost of a ticket is discounted by 10 percent if you play 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 or 100 consecutive games.

Add Keno Bonus

Add Keno Bonus to your play for the chance to increase a win by up to 10 times. If you hit a prize and a Bonus number is drawn, your prize is multiplied by that number – either 3, 4, 5, or 10. Mark "Y" on your bet slip to add Keno Bonus, which will double the cost of your bet. Bonus is not available for 10, 11, or 12 Spot games.
