The Louisiana Lotto has a minimum (starting) jackpot of $500,000, which is increased every draw it’s not won. The increase between draws is based on ticket sales, so it varies; a small jackpot might increase by $25,000, while a big jackpot that drives lots of sales might go up by $100,000 each draw.
The jackpot is a pari-mutuel prize, which means, in the event of multiple winners, it will be shared evenly between the winning tickets. It is not possible to accept the Lotto jackpot as an annuity - cash only!

Lotto is a particularly simple game to play, since there are no optional extras available (such as the ezmatch add-on you can get for Easy 5. Let's go over the process of buying your Lotto tickets…
Once you've got your playslip at the store (or logged into your official Louisiana Lottery app), you'll need to select six numbers from 1 to 42 - mark these on your slip. If you prefer using random numbers, mark the Quick Pick box on your slip, and the lottery terminal will randomly select your numbers for you. You can get 10 Quick Pick plays on one ticket if you ask the clerk.
On the playslip, you can use the Multidraw option to enter your numbers in up to 20 consecutive draws.
If you only want to purchase one ticket, then you’re already done! Hand the slip to the clerk and pay for your purchase.
If you have an old Lotto ticket and want to play the same combination again, hand it to the clerk and ask for an instant replay - you'll get an identical fresh ticket. Alternatively, Bundles give you a handful of Quick Pick tickets for different games without needing to fill out all the playslips. There are three Bundles available, and a Lotto ticket is included in all of them.
