Pick 4 is a popular Maryland Lottery draw with a top prize of $5,000. Draws are held twice daily and there are a variety of bet types to choose from and several ways to win.
The Midday draw takes place at 12:27 PM Monday through Friday, and at 12:28 PM at the weekend. The Evening draw is held at 7:56 PM Monday-Saturday and at 8:22 PM on Sunday (Eastern Time).

Unlike most other states' versions of Pick 4, it's possible to make $0.25 plays using the Combination play type – however, this is only available for Combination tickets.

Choose four digits from 0 through 9 or use the Quick Pick option to generate numbers randomly. Each of the five panels on the playslip is one play, and you can play up to five times per playslip with the same or different numbers.
You need to choose a play type to go with your number selection: Straight, Box, Straight/Box or Combination. You can only use one of these per play. To learn how each of the play types works, see the 'Play Types' section.
Choose the amount you want to wager per panel on your payslip. Prizes for $1 wagers are twice the size of the $0.50 wagers. There are no other differences. For Straight/Box play types, you must enter $0.50 and your ticket will cost $1 ($0.50 for Straight and $0.50 for Box). For Combination plays, you also have the option to wager just $0.25 per play.
Decide which draw time you want to enter, Midday, Evening, or Both. Use the 'Number Of Draws' section on your playslip to specify, if desired, how many draws in advance you'd like to enter your ticket in.
Straight - Win if your digits match the winning numbers in the order they're drawn. You may play any numbers. For example, if your number is 1223, you can only win if 1223 is selected in your draw.
Box - Win by matching the numbers drawn, irrespective of the draw order. Playing duplicate digits reduces your odds of winning but increases the Box prizes available. The options are: 4-Way (1112), 6-Way (1122), 12-Way (1123), and 24-Way (1234).
Straight/Box - This bet type combines a 50¢ Straight play and a 50¢ Box play on the same ticket. The ticket cost is $1.00. Win the Box prize by matching all four digits; if they're in drawn-order, you'll get the Straight prize too!
Combination - Combination plays let you enter all possible arrangements of your digits as individual Straights, so you can win the Straight prize by matching the numbers in any order. The downside is that this ticket costs more than normal – multiply the dollar value of your wager by the number of Ways you're playing to calculate the ticket cost.
The minimum age to play any Maryland Lottery game is 18.
Yes, provided that you cancel it at the same retail location where you bought your ticket, on the same day the ticket was purchased, and provided that ticket sales are still open for the relevant draw.
All Maryland Lottery prizes must be claimed within 182 days of the draw date.
