Mega Millions Jackpot Won Twice in One Week

Wednesday March 18th 2026

The Luck o' the Irish was shining on Ohio on St. Patrick's Day, Tuesday 17 March, as a player there managed to win the Mega Millions jackpot for the second time in a week! Once the winner has recovered from the shock of their win (and any celebratory drinks imbibed), they'll be able to claim a jackpot worth $60 million.

The Lucky Numbers on The Night

The winning numbers for the draw were 4-11-18-38-50, and 24 for the Mega Ball. You can check a full prize breakdown for the draw over on our Mega Millions Results page. Only one player, from Ohio, managed to land the aforementioned $60,000,000 jackpot. The top prize had only rolled up once from the starting value of $50 million since it was last won on March 10th. The previous jackpot was almost 10 times bigger, with a value of $533 million. If you won a "low" jackpot right after a much bigger one was won, how would you feel about it? We can't decide.

The winner has 180 days to claim their prize, and when they come to do so, it's possible to set up a legal trust to claim through, protecting their identity. This means it's unlikely that we'll get a name and a picture for the winner, although the Lottery will most likely provide some anonymous comments. The cash option for the $60 million jackpot is set around $27.1 million.

A National First in The Orange State!

Besides the big win in Ohio, there's been another noteworthy prize won in Florida for the previous draw (Friday 13th) - here's the background. In April 2025, Mega Millions underwent a series of changes intended to distinguish it from Powerball, as the two games had very similar formats. One of the changes was that the optional Megaplier multiplier was replaced with a mandatory multiplier, present on all tickets. This new multiplier can be 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X.

In Florida, the first $10 million prize was awarded under the new rules, after a player managed to match all five main numbers (just missing the Mega Ball) on a ticket with a 10X multiplier. Neat! That's a runner-up prize five times bigger than the Lotto America starting jackpot.

The Multistate Jackpot Scene

Now that the Mega Millions jackpot has been won, it'll be reset to $50 million for the next draw. The current Powerball jackpot is also on the lower side at $101 million. If neither of these prizes are enticing you to play, you could always try Lotto America. Their jackpot is currently $18.88 million, but the odds of winning it are far better.
