Montana Millionaire Returns for 2026 With Biggest Raffle Yet
Thursday March 19th 2026The eagerly-awaited Montana Millionaire game is set to celebrate its 20th edition with its biggest-ever raffle later in 2026 - more tickets, better odds and more millionaires!
Montana Millionaire has been the state’s most popular lottery game since it launched in 2007, and the design for the upcoming edition has just been approved at the MT Lottery Commission meeting on March 12.
How the 2026 Game Will Work
The format will be similar to previous years, with the cost per ticket staying the same at $20. There will be 720,000 tickets put up for sale - that’s an increase of 100,000 from last year. Tickets go on sale at 5:30 AM MT on November 1, 2026.
It’s possible to win instant prizes of $100 or $500 at the time of purchase. This year, there will be more instant prizes than ever before!
Each ticket will have a unique six-digit number. A ‘Quarter Million Monday’ drawing will take place on November 30, when someone will win $250,000, and then the final prize draw will take place on December 26.
This year there will be six prizes of $1 million, instead of the five that were given away in 2025. A certified random number generator (RNG) is used to select the winning numbers. If you have a ticket that matches one of these numbers exactly, you win $1 million!
It’s a good idea to buy your tickets early. Last year, there were 620,000 tickets up for grabs and they all sold out by noon on the first day. Wait for more than a few hours to take part and you will probably be disappointed!
Money raised from ticket sales goes towards funding state programs and services. The game appeals so much to fans that it has led to calls for the Montana Lottery to organize more raffles of this type throughout the year, but the Commission believes it is ‘special and successful because it’s exclusive’.
