Delaware Powerball Player Secures Massive Easter Jackpot
Tuesday April 7th 2026The Easter Bunny delivered more than just chocolate this year for one Delaware lottery player, who banked a massive $231 million in the Easter Monday Powerball drawing. This marks the third time the Powerball jackpot has been claimed so far in 2026, continuing a streak of high-stakes luck across the country.
The jackpot had been increasing gradually since the March 2nd drawing, in which an Arkansas player won $251 million by purchasing a ticket with an online lottery courier. The Arkansas winner went for the cash option of $118 million and will take home $69.78 million once federal and state taxes are dealt with. In the Delaware winner’s case, the (as of now) anonymous winner will likely take home $105 million before taxes.
The Drawing and Winners
The main numbers for the Easter drawing were 7, 24, 37, 42, 57, and the Powerball was 5. The jackpot winner matched all five numbers plus the Powerball. With the Power Play option in check, there were other significant wins including one Match 5 winner of $1,000,000 being awarded $2,000,000 because of Power Play. They bought their ticket at a QuikTrip in Fort Worth, Texas.

The identity of the Easter jackpot winner, and whether they will take the prize in a lump sum or annuity payment, is currently unknown. The First State permits any lottery winner to remain anonymous, meaning that we will only find out information about them if they choose to accept the publicity.
What Is Powerball?
Powerball is one of two pillar lotteries in the United States along with Mega Millions. It has riveted lottery players since it was launched over 30 years ago. It currently holds three drawings a week, and they are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. The jackpot increases every time it’s not won, making it more exciting each time.
Now that the jackpot has been won, it has reset to $20 million, offering a cash value of $9.1 million. While this might seem less attractive than hundreds of millions, you have to remember that $20 million is still a gargantuan amount even after taxes.
